o Enrollment for autumn well over 4500 – 4% increase over last year’s record autumn enrollment

o Triple H here on Friday – to patch potholes at north entrance;
o No blacktopping this year;

o ―Civility in the workplace‖ workshop – November 10
o Benefits fair – next Thursday (10/21) – about 29 vendors, health screening, door prizes;
o Open enrollment starts 10/25 (thru 11/05) – material will be arriving for staff soon

Information Technology Services: Howard Imhof
o Permanent positions being filled;
o Several searches going on;
o Capital projects for ITS: new projects – $2.1 million—
 Datatel: Quarter to sem. Conversion – alert system Something for project accounting Enterprise something – mine info from Datatel for institutional research
 WEB site side: $225k (initial investment) Electronic forms Virtual tour of campus Library site redesign Sharepoint group collaborations (document sharing, blogs, etc.)
 E-readers – new project; with library, purchased iPads, Kindles, Nooks, people can check them out to use; in about a year will make determination which is most effective (most popular?) – so we know what to support (?)
 Document scanning
 Remote access for faculty and staff – rolling out in approx. a month
 Emergency broadcasting system – blast updates to students, faculty and staff – email, voice mail, etc. – users can choose how they want to receive notifications (including FB, Twitter, etc)
 Terminal services - PCs for labs – ―dumb terminals‖ – PCs for all labs
 Disaster (?) Recovery –
 Outsourcing student email – Microsoft Live (.edu) – OSU already uses (Columbus) – push student email accounts so that provider manages, maintains email accounts.
 Web conferencing – underway this year
 Upgrades: Telephones A/V multimedia;
Rosemary Saliba – will outsourcing student email mean that students will have their email for the rest of whenever? Howard: Yes. (no idea what that means)

o Hanging over mantel in library
o Now have library pickup /delivery service to Pataskala campus

Marketing & PR: Suzanne Bressoud
o Events on campus – increased in the last few years;
o Both homepages, events are listed – printable PDFs;
o Let us know if you want to add something (public events)

OSU Admissions & Advising: Ann Donahue
o Two new staff members – Ann Schuster, Educ. Advisor; Stephanie Weaver now at front desk;
o Enrollment: not officially announced from Columbus – we will have record-breaking enrollment (was 2515 last year) between that and 2600 this year; (subsequently has been released as 2562).
o Already recruiting for the class of 2011.
o Dr. MacDonald has charged a retention committee. They are planning a retention retreat for Friday, December 10. If you wish to attend, contact Dr. Sanders, who is the chair of the committee.

Purchasing: Nobody present

Safety & Security: Norm - no updates

Staff Development: Tauni Graham
o Professional development workshop in November;

Student Life: Holly Mason
o Vorley – October 19th – workshop on cyber bullying (Elizabeth Weiss); workshop about gay community - Oct. 25 (Laura Younger); Warner 126, 5-6 pm;
o Casey – October 28, 6-8 pm; annual fall festival; games, caricature artist; Adena Gym to residence hall for trick or treating; beat Michigan week – still need buckeyes!
o Holly Mason- outside company called OrgSync – going live this fall (November) all student organizations can be online and have sites; can archive student organization/involvement information. Other:

Miscellaneous:
o Kendra Linkous– Testing Center – Brandy Morehouse – 10 yrs on campus; started as student tutor; now professional staff; shared between tutoring & testing (halftime each);

o John Berry – Large campus wide assessment – experiential assessment – co-curricular learning – internships, externships (?), etc – please let Derek know;

o Dan Longstreth – do we have a lot of internships on campus? Possibility of getting one in his area? JOHN: We have a lot going on; yes, come see us for your intern needs.
