Big Band Jazz Ensemble from OSU Columbus will perform as well as skits and performances from current students.

USAC is looking for new members for a three year term! If you are an OSU employee 51% FTE or higher you are eligible to apply. We really need regional campus voices! Ann Donahue --- served on USAC in early days of program. It is one of the best professional development opportunities at the university. Get your supervisor’s permission (it will take a chunk of your time) but it is worth it to see how this big university works!

Derek Thatcher --- through the Licking County Coalition of Housing they are sponsoring free tax preparation on campus. Several dates available. Contact Derek for more information.

Susan Scott --- if you produce a flier, please give a copy to the library for the archives. We want to preserve our history! Hard copies preferred but electronic submissions ok as well.

Area updates:

Heather Powell (Development): Next Generation Challenge in its final six months. We have hit the 11 million dollar mark! Heather has been recruited for a position at the Wellington School and will be leaving us at the end of the month. :(

Denny Hollern (Public Safety): Please do your best to park in the lines (don’t double park/block people in)! Not much has changed as far as campus closures go. Be sure to check your voice mail/the website/emails before you leave home to make sure campus is open! Howard Imhof reminded that the regroup system will send a text message to your cell phone and/or email to your home account --- sign up for winter weather alerts! There will be a test of these systems most likely toward the end of this month. OSU folks should be registered in the Columbus system, so you may get two alerts. Stay tuned!

Expo for DMD at Knox 1/24; Coschocton 2/1; Pataskala 2/8. (All expos are on the COTC website.) New employee Jamie Kohl (?) new Gateway student services specialist working in records office. Enrollment update 4214 headcount.

Ann Donahue (OSU Admissions): --- With thanks to staff in Admissions, Advising, Fees & Deposits and Financial Aid, we are working with 220 unpaid students who are registered for Winter 2012. If the right number of them pay we will make our projected enrollment of 2550. It is not easy for many of our students in this economy but we remain optimistic.

With regards to Autumn SEMESTER 2012 we are ahead in applications. As of January 9 we had applications from 1062 prospective new freshmen. That compares to 878 at the same time last year.
